What’s the Unplugged Coding Challenge About?

The Unplugged Challenge is a special opportunity tailored for Grade 3–4 learners. This challenge invites young learners to solve small problems without the use of electronic devices, promoting critical thinking and teamwork. Activities include creating a dance, solving problems in a grid, and more, emphasizing hands-on, collaborative learning experiences.

Register Requirements:

1.       Unplugged Activities Experience: Ensure your team has hands-on experience with the unplugged coding activities.

2.       Team Composition:

a.    One team per school, consisting of Grade 3 and 4 learners. Teams should have four members and should strive for an equal mix of boys and girls, aiming for 50% female participation.

3.       Project Video Submission:

a.    Create and submit a 2-minute video showcasing an unplugged activity that you are doing with your team b. Due Date: July 19, 2024

Steps to Register:

1.       Pre-registration Form: Complete the pre-registration form: https://bit.ly/4eaLpMy

2.       Video Submission: Share your 2-minute project video.

3.       Confirmation: Await confirmation from the organizing committee.

4.       Final Registration: Submit detailed learner information for final registration upon receiving confirmation.

Additional Information

For teams and teachers located more than 100 km from Oudtshoorn, hostel accommodation and catering will be provided, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay.
