What’s the Drone Challenge About?
Get ready for the Drone Challenge, an exhilarating event for Grade 8–11 learners, aged 14-18, as part of the Garden Route EdTech Week. This challenge offers an exciting mix of hands-on workshops and practical competition rounds, designed to inspire and engage students in the world of drone technology.

Registering Requirements:

1. The primary focus is on agricultural schools, but high school registrations will also be considered

2. Team Composition:

a. One team per school, consisting of Grade 8–11 learners. Teams should have four members and should strive

for an equal mix of boys and girls, aiming for 50% female participation.

Event Format:

a. Workshops: All teams will participate in two 2-hour hands-on workshops from 08:00 to 10:00, where they will learn the basics of drone operation and problem-solving techniques.

b. Competition: Following the workshops, from 11:00 to 14:00, teams will compete in practical challenges, involving three rounds:

Steps to Register:

1. Pre-registration Form: Complete the pre-registration form at the bottom.

2. Confirmation: Await confirmation from the organizing committee.

3. Final Registration: Submit detailed learner information for final registration upon receiving confirmation.

Additional Information

For teams and teachers located more than 100 km from Oudtshoorn, hostel accommodation and catering will be provided, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay.
